I am an EUI member. How can I access the Library’s electronic resources?
Answer
The EUI Library offers a wide range of eResources available to EUI Members. The Library Catalogue is the primary access point for discovering the library’s collections. You should follow the links under “View Online” to access the material. In addition, the A–Z Database List provides direct access to electronic databases and collections listed in the catalogue.
The authentication method changes depending on whether you're on campus or off campus.
▹When on campus.
Most eResources are seamlessly accessible on campus when your device is connected to the EUI Wi-Fi network.
You can use either an EUI computer or a personal device connected to the EUI network. The Library provides a small number of desktop computers for the exclusive use of current EUI members (EUI login required), several docking stations with monitors, and 3 internet-only PCs located on the first floor for visitors.
External users and EUI Alumni may access e-resources on campus only. Visitors connected via the eduroam network are not entitled to access the EUI Library’s licensed e-resources.
▹When off campus.
Remote access to the Library's eResources is restricted to current EUI members (researchers, fellows, faculty, and staff).
The best way to access eResources is through the Library Catalogue, after logging into your Library account. In most cases, this will automatically provide institutional login access.
Some resources may require additional authentication. In such cases, an authentication note with specific instructions is included in the resource’s catalogue record.
A limited number of resources are accessible only on campus or via VPN. A guide on setting up a VPN connection to the EUI network is available here.
Remote access to licensed eResources will be suspended if you have reached the overdue fines limit or if your Library account has expired.
